Electric Engineering and Operations
The Electric Utility System is maintained and operated by the Engineering and Operation Division of the Utilities Department. This Division is also responsible for the engineering and construction involved in providing new services and for the on-going electric projects budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program.

Electric Distribution Voltage Conversion (4,160V to 12,470V) Park Boulevard Area The City of Palo Alto Utilities Department (CPAU) will be upgrading the electric distribution system voltage from 4,160 Volt (4 kV) to 12,470 V in the area bounded by Chestnut Avenue, Park Boulevard, El Camino Real, and the Palo Alto/Mountain View City limits.
